FAPAA's Dhaka meet ends


   

Dhaka, June 28 (bdnews24.com) — The 38th executive council meeting of the Federation of Asia Pacific Aircargo Association (FAPAA) has ended on a note of optimism and warmth.

The Bangladesh Freight Forwarders Association (BAFFA) represented the country at the two-day programme at a city hotel inaugurated by commerce minister Faruk Khan on Monday.

The minister praised the international participants for having the trust in BAFFA and the Bangladesh Tourism Board to provide a safe environment for interactions, according to a FAPAA press statement.

"We are proud to have you in our country and thank you for choosing Bangladesh as FAPAA meeting destination," the minister said.

Civil aviation and tourism minister G M Quader presented crests to all delegates in the afternoon session on Tuesday. FAPAA chairman Samson Pao also presented a crest to the minister on behalf of the organisation.

Participants from 17 countries exchanged their experiences and received detailed information and updates from the International Air Transport Association or IATA on their project to implement e-airway bill (e-awb) by 2014.

Formed in 1985, FAPAA grew to include Australia, Bangladesh, Brunei, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Macau, Malaysia, Nepal, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Chinese Taipei and Thailand.
