Regional body hails cargo operators for professionalism

38th Annual Executive Council Meeting and AGM of FAPAA. The meetings will be held in the Ruposhi Bangla Hotel, Dhaka, Bangladesh between the 26th - 28th June, 2011.

 
The government will arrange training programmes for cargo operators to promote professionalism in cargo handling, Commerce Minister Faruk Khan said. His commitment came at the opening ceremony of 38th executive council meeting of Federation of Asia Pacific Aircargo Association (FAPAA) held in the city.
The two day long executive council meeting began at Ruposhi Bangla Hotel in the city Sunday.

Chairman of FAPAA Samson Pao said capacity of Bangladeshi cargo operators increased significantly."We would be happier if the Freight Forwarders Association of Bangladesh keep continue its effort to increase the quality of cargo handling," he added.

Mr Pao hailed the Bangladeshi cargo operators for showing professionalism in cargo handling.

Executive Chairman of FAPAA Brain Lovell and team leader of Bangladesh Amirul Islam Chowdhury also spoke, among others, in the meeting. Representatives from 18 countries including Bangladesh, Brunei, China, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Macau, Malaysia, Nepal, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Chinese Taipei and Thailand attended the meeting.
